Wondering if you have a 5 ingredient recipe for creamy potato soup? Here in our American home my kids love the “loaded baked potato” version, especially as comfort food on chilly/cold days, so I purchase store bought. It’s a chilly summer day here in Indiana, right now, and we polishd off another can, and this got me to thinking. I always refer to your site first as a reference point, but don’t see your take on this? Perhaps it’s something you’ve already experimented with, or in the process of? Please share. Thanks, Jules.

Hi, Jules,
With winter just around the corner, I hope that you are planning to add many, many more simple soup recipes to your recipe collection page. I could eat soup 3 times a day and not be unhappy. Please say that soups are at the top of your “to-do” list!

Ditto Linda – love the site, came here in search of a chicken soup recipe (even with more than 5 ingredients!), it’s a shame there aren’t more soup recipes here even though it’s in the name of your blog :P Thanks, Sarah

Sorry I don’t have a loaded baked recipe… my irishman isn’t into jacket potatoes for some really weird reason..

Linda & Sarah
Thanks for the encouragement to get into soup more! They’re on the list!

Hi, thought I’d just offer a tip when making the soups. Instead of bringing veg to the boil in water, try using a good quality stock. Adds depth to the flavour of the soup. :-)

Hi Jules! Have been searching FOREVER for your red curry potato cashew soup through books, and your website and I can not find it anywhere. It’s one of my absolute favorite recipes. Do you have a link, or any guidance to where I can find it? It’s on my menu plan for the week, and I’m wasting so much time looking for it when I could be making it. :)

Hi, how much liquid you are adding to White Bean and Eggplant soup?

jules February 3, 2015 at 8:37 am

Hi Anita!
It’s just the liquid from the two cans of beans… Which is about 1.5 or maybe 2 cups

Hello Jules! I noticed that you use a lot of canned food in your recipes. Are you aware that they pack huge amount of sodium and preservatives even if you use “low sodium” or “no salt added” versions. This can affect your blood pressure significantly. I understand that they make it easy to prepare 10-minute meals, but this does not make them healthy meals.

Hi Angela,
Thx for your concern. You can easily cook your own dried beans if you are worried about sodium.
Canning is a method of preservation that actually doesn’t require any chemical preservatives so its very unlikely to be a problem. Jx
