launceston: how to spend 24 hours eating and drinking

How to spend 24 hours eating & drinking in launceston

dinner: black cow bistro
If you’re in the mood for a really great Tasmanian steak like we were, then Black Cow Bistro is the place to be. It’s a casual, cosy type of restaurant that definitely lives up to the name of ‘bistro’. While the steaks lived up to expectations, it was the sides that really won my heart. Especially the roast cauliflower. And the sauteed mushrooms were one of the best mushie dishes I’ve ever had. Ooh ooh and the broccolini with brown butter.

brunch: stillwater
It’s hard to beat the setting of stillwater. Grab a table by the window and start your day in the most civilised way. The breakfast menu had some interesting twists and overall we were very happy with the exception of a hard, flavourless roast tomato in the middle of Winter. Would love to come back and try their lunch or dinner menu.

on my list for next time

tant pour tant
My Twitter resources tell me that ‘Tant pour tant’ is your best bet for excellent coffee in Launceston. And the breakfasts are meant to be good as well.
