“I am over my head buried in a business I’m working to build.

But I am doing a lot of good things naturally as a result of this work.

I am very pleased with the habits I’ve built: I plan my meals every day, I have go-to meals, I weigh every day without stress, I write affirmations about my health and ease, and most of the time I stop eating when I’m satisfied. I no longer need sugar but do have an occasional treat when I really want it.

I haven’t yet lost all of the weight I’d like to but my general trend is down and everything just feel so much easier and I know I will reach my ideal weight, whatever that is.

What I realize is that it’s just not a “thing” for me any more – I’m not stressing or worrying over my body and what I am or am not eating, and I have habits that support me that I don’t have to think about.

“I can honestly say that it has transformed how I see myself and food. I absolutely love food so it’s so heartening to hear from you that it’s possible to love food AND be healthy– what a crazy concept, and yet it works!
I have lost ten kilos. Yesterday for a bit of fun I tried on a few clothes in my wardrobe. Many many things fitted better than ever and I was surprised to see that some things were too big! I remember going on my first diet when I was ten (I’m now 43). “I was really looking for a plan on how to make healthier food choices, and of course in the process lose weight.
I certainly did not want to count calories, macros, micros, fat, sugars etc. etc. with every bite I ate.
I attempted several programs and counting, documenting, logging, weighing portions is all well and good, but way too time consuming!
Resulting in falling off the bandwagon and losing interest all too soon.

Now I am more cognizant of the food choices I make on a daily basis. I eat out a lot less, and feel good about it. I weigh myself daily so I am accountable for the number on the scale. I do give myself permission to indulge, but always mindful of the portions. I hear Jules’ voice in my head “It’s better when….” I don’t beat myself up and wallow in self pity, or get judgemental or play the shame game if I make a mistake – Hey I am only human after all! Learning self compassion and learning to love myself was really hard initially.

Now I can trust myself around food and know it’s okay to “stop when I’ve had enough” and not force myself to have a clean plate out of guilt.”

“Check out the expiration date on these chips…(circled in red). I bought them well before the expiry date when doing all the work to change my thinking to see chips as an indulgence I enjoy, but that I can also take or leave, and NOT as their own major food group. “I went thru my clothes for the upcoming season. Was doing what I like to call “shopping in my own closet”. “I joined NHC because I had been overweight and under exercised for far too many years. I had done my own experimentation with eating styles, fasting, food choices, etc. and nothing was sticking or working in the long haul. I have been a member of Stonesoup recipes/blog for years so decided it was time to stop trying all these things alone and see what a coach could help me with. I wanted to lose a lot of weight, feel lighter on my feet, and just overall feel better.

What I got: confidence. A lot of it. I feel empowered to make the decisions that work for me. I have shaken off the excuses (no time b/c of work, maybe it’s my thyroid, it’s my genes) and taken ownership of my thoughts and my health.
