[dropcap style=”font-size: 60px; color: #9b9b9b;”] E[/dropcap]ver since I was a little girl I’ve been obsessed with travel. Part of it comes from being Australian. Have you ever noticed that wherever you go in the world, no matter how remote, an Aussie or two will pop up?
But most of my travel inspiration came from my Mum.
One of my favourite things to do when I was growing up was to spend hours pouring over the scrapbooks my Mum kept from her time working in London and her travels to Europe, Canada and the US. Cameras weren’t so cheap back then so she documented her trip with postcards, ticket stubs and swizzle sticks from cocktail bars.
It was just so exotic and about as different as you could get from the dusty life on an Australian sheep farm.
So I promised myself as soon as I could save enough money, I was going to see the world. Over the years I’ve done pretty well, visiting all the continents except for Antarctica and South America.
These days, I don’t travel as much but I love reading about places to visit – squirreling away information for future journeys.
Today I’m taking you on a bit of an armchair (or desktop) adventure, sharing some pics and good eating tips from my latest trip – 3 weeks in Europe.
The highlight of the trip was a long boozy lunch at the best restaurant in the world (more on that next week). It was also great fun taking my Dad for his first European tour. And as always I enjoying the incredibly generous hospitality of my future in-laws in Limerick. Thanks Paddy and Geraldine!
So much (delicious) fun!
Rather than clog up your inbox with a gigantic post, I’ve broken it into individual articles.

Hi Jules,
What a great post! So many helpful suggestions for places to visit in each destination. Didn’t get to spend time in Limerick on my last visit to Ireland, as we just passed through it, but will definitely add it my list for a meaningful stay next time.
Regards,
Robyn.
Thanks Robyn!
This is so helpful! I also love to travel, and I would love to eat at the best places, but I very often can’t find them, and sometimes end up disappointed.
