[dropcap style=”font-size: 60px; color: #00adef;”] I[/dropcap] always get nervous when I write about this topic.
So if you’re someone who is 100% happy with your health and way of eating, this isn’t for you.
Likewise if talking about diets is triggering for you, then skip over to the Stonesoup recipe collection.
But if you love food.
And aren’t happy with your current eating situation, then keep reading.
This is for you!
The Problem with Dieting.
I first came across the concept that diets don’t work from Darya Rose pHD.
Darya and I share a lot in common including a love of vegetables, a background in science (Darya has a Ph.D) and a firm belief in the power of healthy eating.
We’ve both written guest posts for Tim Ferriss‘ blog, which is how I discovered her.
Darya’s book Foodist: Using Real Food and Real Science to Lose Weight Without Dieting is one of the best books I’ve read on healthy eating.
As Darya wrote when I interviewed her on Stonesoup a few years ago…
“It sounds counter-intuitive, but dieting was what caused me to make terrible food choices, deprive myself and ultimately overeat.
Once I embraced the joy of Real Food all the “self control” I wished I had became second nature.
Eating right became easy for me, and I lost weight naturally.”
A More Sustainable Alternative
As Darya mentioned, the solution is to focus on wholefoods and building healthy habits.
Habits are awesome because they avoid the need for willpower.
Making healthy behaviors automatic.
And effortless.
Without all the struggle.
Or guilt.
Like to try a more sustainable approach to healthy eating?
Then I wrote my latest book just for you :)
I love books.

I follow a circadium rhythm, eating window to eat what I want while losing weight
Glad that’s working for you Jana!
I just finished reading the Circadian Code by Satchin Panda. Worth a read if you want to get a deeper understanding on why time restricted eating works.
Do you have the recipe for the cherry chocolate cake in the picture in this post? I am VERY interested in trying it out. Thanks so much!
Hi Wiggins!
The cake recipe isn’t here on the free blog. It’s available to my Simple Meal Plans members (along with all my other recipes).
Sorry to tease you :)
