To celebrate all things minced / ground here are my favourite unusual ideas for minced (ground) beef that take you well beyond burgers and bolognese.
Without a doubt, minced or ground beef if my favourite protein. I think it stems from my love of spaghetti bolognese as a child.
But these days the love runs even deeper because it’s:
a) inexpensive
b) quick to cook
c) tender and very forgiving (ie hard to mess up)
d) easy to eat and digest
e) family-friendly.
8 Unusual Ideas for Minced (Ground) Beef
1. 15-Minute Goulash
Instead of simmering away for hours, you can have this Hungarian-inspired goulash on the table in 15 minutes. But with one secret magic ingredient you won’t feel like you’re missing out at all.

2. Chinese Noodle Not-Bolognese
Breathe a new least of life into the old family favourite by taking the old bolognese on a trip from Italy to China.

3. Quick Smoky Beef & Aubergine
Spiced beef piled on a bed of creamy aubergine dip (or hummus) with pita for the carb lovers and salad or spinach for me. #everyonehappy

4. Plan-B Pesto Bean
With frozen baby green beans and a jar of commercial pesto, this is a brilliant unusual pantry recipe to add to your repertoire.

5. Cabbage ‘Chow Mein’
I can’t get enough of this. Sliced cabbage (or pre-sliced coleslaw mix) cooks down into the most delicious noodles.

6. Best Ever Beef Stroganoff
Save yourself hours AND guarantee juicy tender meat by subbing ground / minced beef for the more usual stewing cuts.

7. Beef, Broccolini & Basil
My all time favourite stir fry combo. Need I say more.

8. Creamy Korma Curry
A brilliant creamy mild curry to get the family hooked on the flavours of India. Equally good with lamb or beef or chicken for that matter.
